Disagreed with the thread tape wrap count of 3. A plumber I knew with 20 years experience said:
“Don’t scrimp on tape, no point financially. Wrap a dozen times slowly moving down the thread as you wrap. This gives a tapered effect so as you tighten the thread it comes across thicker amounts of tape.”
This seems to make more sense than just 3 wraps with no tapering. Liked the “clockwise” only though. Sure that’s caught out inexperienced plumbers before.
